St. Joseph of Arimathea was founded in New Haven, in October of 2006. Since then the congregation has grown by leaps and bounds. As an Independent Catholic Church we offer an alternative for those seeking a more "inclusive" Catholic Church.

For years many have been shut out from experiencing their catholic faith in its entirety. St. Joe's strives to provide the sacraments to ALL people, regardless of sex, creed, color, sexuality, or social condition.  Our congregation was founded to be a church of social change, speaking out for those who have no voice.

We also offer many opportunities for social outreach and ministry. We believe that actions speak louder than words and we are committed to living out our faith as Catholic Christians.

Our congregation is made up of a diverse group of people, coming from all walks of life.  No matter your age  or whether you are single, married, partnered or divorced, this community offers you true fellowship in the spirit of Jesus, who came to welcome all people.
